A dream come true. Domenico and Gina were married in 1957, and their dream was to open their own fruitshop. They worked and saved very hard to realise this dream and opened their first shop in Scott’s Arcade Epping in 1960. They were forced to go into partnership through lack of finance, but after only one year this wasn’t working out, and they sold their share at the grand price of 7000 pounds. This was an enormous amount of money at that time, and enabled them to open their own shop at North Epping in 1962. |
