After working 5 years for my uncles Joe and Tony Tesoriero at Randwick and then going into partnership at the age of 17 with my uncle Bartolo Rosello, I decided it was time to open up my own shop "Sandy's Fruit Market". I enjoyed the early starts. By 4am I would go to Haymarket to buy fruit and vegetables and then make my way back by 10am. It was a privilege serving my regular customers by hand, not like today where customers serve themselves.
