Antonia Casamento Felice Casamento's daughter Norma Sciara writes: my father arrived in Australia on 10 August, 1949 on the ship "Napoli". He was sponsored by his uncle Vince, with whom he lived and worked. After working at several jobs - Dunlop, Nestle and uncle Vince's shop at 386 Darling St, Balmain - Felice was able to open his own fruit shop at 183 Great North Rd, Five Dock, together with his newly arrived brother Onofrio. They brought their parents Angelo and Onofria to Australia in 1954. Sadly, Onofria died 18 months after arriving in Australia. |
