 "Originally from Palmi, Calabria, the five brothers, Rocco, Diego, Giuseppe, Domenico and Francesco Delfino, had begun operating their business “Fruit Palace,” in Newtown, ever since coming to Australia in the late 1920s, early 1930s.  The store stocked the fresh produce that the brothers, together with their wives and children, had grown on their farms in Merrylands.
